τιμᾶν καὶ διώκειν μᾶλλον ἢ τὰ συγγενῆ καὶ οἰκεῖα. τοῦτο τῷ κόλακι πολλὴν μεταξὺ τῆς φιλίας εὐρυχωρίαν δίδωσιν, ὁρμητήριον ἐφʼ ἡμᾶς εὐφυὲς ἔχοντι τὴν φιλαυτίαν, διʼ ἣν αὐτὸς αὑτοῦ κόλαξ ἕκαστος ὢν
