ὁμολογοῦντί γε καὶ τῶν αἰσθήσεων περιφρονεῖν, ἀφʼ ὧν σχεδὸν αἱ πλεῖσται γεγόνασιν ἔννοιαι, τήν γε περὶ τὰ φαινόμενα πίστιν ἕδραν ἔχουσαι καὶ ἀσφάλειαν. ἐμὲ δὲ πολλῆς, ὣς γʼ ἐμαυτῷ φαίνομαι, καὶ ἀτόπου μεστὸν ἥκοντα ταραχῆς εἴτε τισὶ λόγοις εἴτʼ ἐπῳδαῖς εἴτʼ ἄλλον ἐπίστασαι τρόπον παρηγορίας οὐκ ἂν φθάνοις ἰατρεύων οὕτω σοι διασέσεισμαι καὶ γέγονα μετέωρος ὑπὸ Στωικῶν ἀνδρῶν, τὰ μὲν ἄλλα βελτίστων
