Πότερον, ἦν δ’ ἐγώ, διαβαδιῶν; Ἀμέλει μὲν οὖν, ἔφη, καὶ τούτου δεόμενος· ἀωρὶ γάρ τοι τῶν νυκτῶν ἐξαναστὰς ἔδοξέ μοι χρῆναι τοῖς Ὁμήρου γενεθλίοις τῆς ποιητικῆς ἀπάρξασθαι. Καλῶς γε σὺ ποιῶν, ἔφην, καὶ τὰ τροφεῖα τὴς παιδεύσεως ἐκείνῳ τίνων.
