Ἐν δὲ γένεσι θεωρεῖται σχῆμα τόνδε τὸν τρόπον, παρθενικαί τε καὶ ἠΐθεοι ἀταλὰ φρονέοντες. ὁμοίως δὲ ἔχει κἀκεῖνο, ἔνθα μὲν ἠΐθεοι καὶ παρθένοι ἀλφεσίβοιαι ὠρχεῦντ' ἀλλήλων ἐπὶ καρπῷ χεῖρας ἔχοντες. ἰσχυρότερον γὰρ ὂν τὸ ἀρσενικὸν γένος τοῦ θηλυκοῦ ἐπεκράτησε κατὰ τὴν ἐπιφοράν. ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ τὸ θη- λυκὸν γένος ἰσχυρότερον ὂν τοῦ οὐδετέρου ἐπεκράτησε κατὰ τὴν ἐπιφοράν, οἷον αἱ δέ που ἡμέτεραί τ' ἄλοχοι καὶ νήπια τέκνα εἵατ' ἐνὶ μεγάροις ποτιδέγμεναι υἷας Ἀχαιῶν.
