ἦν ἄν. ἢ γὰρ ἐπείσθη τις ἂν, ἢ πείσας ἀπήλλακτο. νῦν δʼ ἑτέρους διακόνους ὑποβαλλόμενοι τῆς συμβουλῆς ὡς ἀληθῶς σκιαμαχεῖν ἀναγκάζουσι. καὶ τὰ προοίμια δὲ δεινῶς ἐκ κύκλου αὐτῶν ὡς μὲν ἔχω πρὸς αὐτὸν εὐνοίας, ὅτι μὲν εἷς εἰμι τῶν φιλούντων τὰ τοιαῦτα. ταῦτα δʼ ἐστὶ πλεῖν ἢ ναυτιᾶν. καὶ τοίνυν καὶ πρώην τις τὸ αὐτὸ πρόβλημα ποιησάμενος ἀπαγγέλλειν ἑνὶ τῶν ἐμῶν ἐκέλευε πρός με ὡς ἄρα οὐκ ὀρθῶς παραφθεγξαίμην μεταξὺ τοῦ ἐγκωμίου καὶ τῶν λόγων τῶν εἰς τὴν θεόν· οὐ γὰρ εἰκὸς ἄρα εἶναι περὶ αὑτοῦ καὶ τῶν αὑτοῦ τι λέγειν τινὰ, ἄλλως τε καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἀκριβῶς εἰδόσι, πάντως δὲ εἰδέναι πάντας περὶ
