Ἐμοὶ δοκέει ἀρχὴ μὲν οὖν οὐδεμία εἶναι τοῦ σώματος, ἀλλὰ πάντα ὁμοίως ἀρχὴ καὶ πάντα τελευτή· κύκλου γὰρ γραφέντος ἀρχὴ οὐχ εὑρέθη· καὶ τῶν νοσημάτων ἀπὸ παντὸς ὁμοίως τοῦ σώματος· τὸ μὲν ξηρότερον, πεφυκὸς νόσους λάζεσθαι καὶ μᾶλλον πονέειν, τὸ δὲ ὑγρὸν ἧσσον· τὸ μὲν γὰρ ἐν τῷ ξηρῷ νόσημα πήγνυταί τε καὶ οὐ διαπαύει, τὸ δ’ ἐν τῷ ὑγρῷ διαῤῥεῖ, καὶ τοῦ σώματος ἄλλοτε ἄλλο μάλιστα ἔχει, καὶ αἰεὶ μεταλλάσσον ἀνάπαυσιν ποιέει, καὶ θᾶσσον παύεται, ὥστε οὐ πεπηγός, Τοῦ δὲ σώματος τὰ μέλεα ἕκαστα τὸ ἕτερον τῷ ἑτέρῳ, ὁπόταν ἔνθα ἢ ἔνθα ὁρμήσῃ, νοῦσον παραυτίκα ποιέει, ἡ κοιλίη τῇ κεφαλῇ, καὶ ἡ κεφαλὴ τῇσι σαρξὶ καὶ τῇ κοιλίῃ, καὶ τἄλλα ἅπαντα οὕτω κατὰ λόγον, ὥσπερ ἡ κοιλίη τῇ κεφαλῇ, καὶ ἡ κεφαλὴ τῇσι σαρξὶ καὶ τῇ κοιλίῃ.
