Μηδενὶ μηδὲν ὀφείλετε, εἰ μὴ τὸ ἀλλήλους ἀγαπᾷν.« Τοῦτο πεποίηκεν αὐ- τὸς ὁ ταῦτα κηρύττων. Ὥσπερ οὖν παῤῥη- σιάζεται γράφων· »Τὸν καλὸν ἀγῶνα ἠγώνισμαι· τὸν δρόμον τετέλεκα, τὴν πίστιν τετήρηκα· λοιπὸν ἀπόκειταί μοι ὁ τῆς δικαιοσύνης στέφανος, ὃν ἀπο- δώσει μοι ὁ δίκαιος κριτής.« Μὴ ψευσάμενος γὰρ ἐφ' οἷς ἐπηγγείλατο, ἀλλὰ καὶ τηρήσας τὴν πρὸς τὸν Θεὸν ὑπόσχεσιν, ἔσχε καὶ αὐτὸς ἀδιάπτωτον τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν παρὰ τοῦ ἀληθινοῦ Θεοῦ. Οὐκοῦν διὰ τοῦτο ἡμῖν συμβουλεύει λέγων· »Μὴ ψεύδεσθε εἰς ἀλλήλους·« καὶ πάλιν· »Πᾶν ψεῦδος ἐκ τοῦ στόματος ὑμῶν μὴ ἐκπορευέσθω.« Θέλει γὰρ ἡμᾶς μιμητὰς ἑαυτοῦ γενέσθαι γράφων· »Ἀλήθειαν λέγω, οὐ ψεύδομαι.« Ἐπειδὴ καὶ εὐαγ- γελικόν ἐστι τοῦ Κυρίου ῥητὸν εἶναι ἡμῶν τὸ Ναὶ, ναὶ, καὶ τὸ Οὒ, οὔ.
