Ἑκάστῳ γὰρ ἄρχοντι ἀπονέμονται οβʹ· τὸ δὲ ἦν σύμβολον τῆς ἀρχῆθεν γενομένης οἰκονομίας ἐπὶ πᾶσαν ἀνθρωπότητα. Ἡνίκα γὰρ πύργος ᾠκοδόμητο ὑπὸ ἀπίστων ἀνδρῶν ὁμοφώνων οβʹ ἐθνῶν, ὀργῆς δικαίας ἐπ' αὐτοὺς γενομένης, μερισμὸς ἐτελεῖτο γλωσσῶν· οἳ ἀσυμφωνίᾳ φωνῆς γενόμενοι εἰς διασπορὰν ἐχώρησαν, ὑπὸ τοῦ πνεύματος ἐλαυνόμενοι. Ἦσαν μὲν ἐκ τοῦ Χὰμ λβʹ, ἐκ δὲ τοῦ Σὴμ κεʹ, ἐκ δὲ τοῦ Ἰαφὲθ ιεʹ, οἱ πάντες οβʹ.
