Ἀλλ' ὡς περισσῶς κοπιῶντες ἐν τῇ διακονίᾳ, μέγα φρονοῦ- μεν κατὰ τῶν ἡσυχαζόντων; Ἀλλ' εὑρίσκομεν τὸν Κύριον τὴν Μαρίαν ἐπαινοῦντα μᾶλλον, ὅτι τὴν ἀγαθὴν μερίδα ἐξελέξατο. Ἀλλ' ὡς ἥσυχοι ἐπαιρόμεθα κατὰ τῶν περισπωμένων ἐν τῇ διακονίᾳ; Εὑρίσκομεν πάλιν τὸν Κύριον διδάσκοντα καὶ λέ- γοντα· οὐκ ἦλθον διακονηθῆναι, ἀλλὰ διακονῆσαι καὶ θεῖναι τὴν ψυχήν μου λύτρον ἀντὶ πολλῶν. Ὥστε παντάπασι παραιτητέον τὴν ὑψηλοφροσύνην. Ἀλλ' ὡς ἐν ἐρήμῳ τόπῳ καὶ ἐν κεκονιαμένοις καθεζόμενοι μεγαλοφρονοῦμεν; Ἀλλ' οὐδὲν ἡ- μᾶς ὀνήσει τὸ ἔργον τοῦ τόπου μὴ ἐργασαμένους ἐν ταπεινοφροσύνῃ, τοῦ Ἀπο- στόλου λέγοντος, μὴ σκοπεῖν τὰ βλεπόμενα, ἀλλὰ τὰ μὴ βλεπόμενα· τὰ γὰρ βλεπόμενα πρόσκαιρα, τὰ δὲ μὴ βλεπόμενα αἰώνια.
