A contemporary room
for ancient voices.
The Greek Library is an independent digital reading room built to make the Greek literary corpus inviting to read and precise enough to cite.
The project begins with more than five thousand TEI editions spanning epic, philosophy, drama, history, medicine, theology and much more.
Rather than flattening these sources into anonymous text, the library preserves their structure, bibliographic context and stable identifiers.

Legibility
A reading surface should disappear. Careful measures, spacing and contrast let Greek breathe on every screen.
Traceability
Edition metadata and canonical references remain close at hand, so a beautiful page can still be a scholarly one.
Durability
Portable formats, simple infrastructure and stable URLs keep the library useful beyond any single interface.
A note on the sources
A library is also a lineage.
The corpus gathers editions prepared by many projects, institutions and scholars. Each reader page surfaces its own publication and source information when available.
This site is a presentation and discovery layer: credit, licensing and textual responsibility remain attached to the individual source edition.
